Full Description/Transcription:
In two world wars Canadian Reserves contributed more men per capita than any other segment of the population. More than seven thousand First Nations people served in the First and Second World Wars and the Korean wars. An unknown number of Inuit and Métis all signed up for tours of duty. One of Canada’s most decorated and courageous war heroes is Thomas George Prince, an expert on reconnaissance and fighting patrol. He earned 11 medals in all. One of the four Canadians to earn the prestigious military medals, he distinguished himself as one of the bravest soldiers in the Canadian army while he was a member of an elite strike force, “The Devil’s Brigade.” Thanks to the participation of Aboriginal Peoples in world conflicts, Canada is what it is today.
